Keith Barr has been training hunting dogs for over 20 years. Up until 2005, he focused on training only his own dogs until he started receiving repeated requests to train other people’s dogs. The success of this training has evolved into a program which is limited to preparing pointing/versatile dogs with the necessary skill set to run in NAVHDA tests and/or AKC hunt tests and trials. We take in a very limited number of dogs to work with which allows us to focus our time into preparing each dog to excel in the required testing format. We offer two types of training assistance.

The first is where the dog is boarded with us for a specified amount of time for training following a 2 week evaluation period. During the evaluation period, we evaluate the dog to see if he or she has what it takes to achieve the desired level of training. If, at the end of this period, we choose to send the dog back home, we will only charge the owner for any applicable boarding charges incurred during the evaluation. After the evaluation period we will develop a training program that is specific to your dog to meet the testing/trial goals. During the training period, owners are encouraged to participate as much as possible so that we can prepare the owner to handle the dog correctly after training.

For non-members …………………………………$550 per month

The second type of training is where you, the owner, want to do the training yourself and you just need some guidance on how to proceed. In this case we offer training assistance with an hourly rate to get you started down the right track and keep you on track throughout the training process.
